This blog documents my activities (work and pleasure) during my Fulbright fellowship in India 2018. My host institution is the Cancer Institute (WIA) in Chennai. Chennai is the fourth largest city in India and is situated on the eastern coast on the Indian Ocean. My type of Fulbright scholar was called a Distinguished Chair. Besides conducting research at the Cancer Institute, I also taught a course to graduate social work students at Stella Maris College and had a dozen speaking engagements at cancer centers and universities across the country (Kerala, Kolkata, New Delhi, Mumbai). In the spirit of the Fulbright Program, I hope this blog will convey the benefits of the Fulbright Program in promoting mutual understanding and collaboration among people from different nations.
